Main Components of a Stainless Steel Beer Fermentation Tank

Before being put into use, a stainless steel fermentation tank must be thoroughly sterilized. Due to the relatively complex structure of the fermentation tank, achieving the desired sterilization effect requires sterilizing the connected air filter with steam, followed by drying with air. After the internal sterilization is completed, accumulated wastewater in the feed pipe should be drained and the pipe cleaned. This set of procedures tests not only the operator’s attention to detail but also the maintainability of the equipment—whether the structural design is reasonable and cleaning is convenient directly affects daily operational efficiency and hygiene assurance.

Main Components of a Stainless Steel Beer Fermentation Tank Process & Engineering

A stainless steel fermentation tank mainly consists of the following components:

  1. Air Receiver Tank
For safety reasons, the pressure in the air receiver tank is typically regulated within 2Kg (0.2Mpa). If the pressure exceeds this limit, the air compressor should be turned off. A normally open safety valve is located at the bottom of the tank for pressure relief.
  2. Air Compressor
Pressing the red button starts the air compressor, which gradually supplies compressed air to the air receiver tank, providing a stable air source for the fermentation process.
  3. Stainless Steel Fermentation Tank
The tank body is equipped with sensors such as electrodes. Before opening the tank, these should be removed to prevent damage. When tightening the tank cover, it should be done diagonally to ensure uniform and reliable sealing. These details may seem simple, but over long-term use, sealing integrity and ease of operation directly affect the stability and service life of the equipment.
  4. Steam Generator
A yellow light indicates that water needs to be added. Once the water reaches the proper level, a red light turns on and the unit automatically begins heating. A valve at the back of the steam generator is used to regulate steam output and is normally kept open.

Stainless steel fermentation tanks are key equipment for industrial biological fermentation. Made of stainless steel, they are widely used in industries such as dairy, beverages, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and biochemicals. The tank typically features a jacket and insulation layer, with capabilities for heating, cooling, and maintaining temperature, meeting the precise temperature requirements of various fermentation processes.

The reliability of a fermentation tank depends largely on manufacturing precision and the integrity of the supporting systems. Our company is located in the birthplace of China’s brewing equipment industry, surrounded by a mature industrial ecosystem.
